When talking about onboarding new clients…
Many agency owners think it’s just about sending out welcome emails…
Collecting usernames and passwords…
And getting the new clients ‘settled in.’
Big yawn.
In reality, the first 90 days of working with your new client are very crucial.
You don’t want them to just get ‘settled in.’
Rather, you want them to go…
“Wow, what a strong start! I’m excited about where things are headed!”
In other words, you can’t ever start these client relationships haphazardly.
Instead, you’ve got to carefully plan the first 90 days of every new client.
Make every day count and keep them excited throughout.
It’s like what Michael E. Gerber said in his book, The E-Myth Revisited:
We’ve got to engineer the whole client experience—like we’re the architects of those relationships.
Now, as you think about creating that world-class onboarding experience in your agency…
From sending out personal thank you notes…
To scheduling the launch call and maybe dropping a gift basket in the mail…
Don’t forget about what really matters.
You could have all of these well-crafted welcome elements and touchpoints…
But if the client is 30 days in…
60 days in…
90 days in…
And they’re not getting any results?
They’ll start to question their decision to work with you and your agency.
So, make sure you also engineer quick, epic wins for all your new clients.
Get your marketing hat on and think about what you can do for them in those first weeks.
It should not just be any activity…
But something that will actually make their cash register ring.
