Move away from old-school communication

Most digital marketing agencies communicate old-school. Some email a report. Others try to get on a phone conversation. If those are the only two mechanisms you’re using, you’re leaving opportunity on the table. We live in an era where the internet is king—you need to leverage it! Here are some of the ways we’ve found success:

  1. Facebook Messenger: Most of your clients are going to be on Facebook. Clients love communicating on Facebook messenger. If you hit them up with a Facebook message, it’s a great mechanism to get their attention. They get fewer messages than emails or phone calls.
  2. Text Message: Everyone has a smartphone. Most people prefer to engage via text message than anything else. You can use tools like highlevel to communicate by text to get their attention. They need to know that you care, are paying attention, and have their back.
  3. Facebook Groups: You can take the communication from one-on-one to one-to-many. You create a community. Get your clients in a group, let them get to know each other, and be the facilitator.
  4. In-Person Communication: What about a Zoom session to share ideas and strategies? What about an industry event or association to meet in person?

If you move from just communication by email and phone, you can change the game and engage in a way that’s convenient for them.

Why communication matters SO much

Communicating the right way leads to higher engagement. The #1 reason a client cancels is perceived indifference. When you set up engagement mechanisms, they’ll be more likely to stick around. If you create a Facebook group and host other live events, it helps develop community engagement with all of your clients. Lastly, changing the way you communicate with your clients will result in better retention rates.
