Unlocking Agency Success: The Power of Podcasting
I want to share one of my favorite strategies for helping you position your agency as the go-to choice in your industry. Plus, it’s a surefire way to have clients knocking on your door month in and month out – podcasting.
Now, if you’re eager to discover fresh ideas and strategies to supercharge your agency’s growth, attract new clients, and level up your business, you’re in the right place.
When it comes to growing your agency, I often talk about our Agency Growth System, which involves daily, weekly, and monthly activities to keep your client pipeline brimming. This system includes cold outreach, monthly webinars, podcasting, industry events, and case studies. But today, I want to zoom in on podcasting and why it’s a game-changer.
Now, let’s tackle some common challenges. Creating fresh content can be tough, especially when you’re staring at a blank screen, wondering where to begin. Without a clear framework, content creation becomes a daunting task. Then there’s the issue of engagement – you pour your heart into a blog post, video, or webinar, only to hear crickets on the other end. That can be disheartening, right? Lastly, even if you manage to create content consistently, you might still struggle to be seen as the expert in your niche, and that’s where podcasting comes in.
Today, I’m going to share a framework that simplifies content creation, making it effortless for you to produce valuable content regularly. Let me illustrate this with a success story. Jim Moline from Roofer Marketers started with little authority in the roofing niche but used podcasting to position himself. Fast forward, they’ve become a dominant force in roofing marketing, generating over $300,000 in monthly recurring revenue and eventually selling the agency through acquisition. Now, let’s bring this closer to home. In my agency, we conduct monthly interviews with clients and post them on our website, creating a valuable resource for our niche.
I’m excited to share five key principles for implementing podcasting successfully:
- Nail down your format. Keep it simple to multiply your impact
- Familiarize yourself with the necessary tools and platforms.
- Craft compelling questions and interview flow. I highly recommend an interview-style podcast – easy for you and engaging for your prospects.
- Design an effective syndication process to maximize your reach.
- Start reaching out to potential guests, both clients and prospects.
Getting guests on your podcast can be easier than you think. Begin by reaching out to past clients or influential figures in your industry. The key is to make it low-pressure and valuable for them.
Now, let’s talk tech. You can start with Zoom, record live interviews, and later explore options like Restream for more visibility. For the podcast itself, make sure it’s available on platforms like iTunes, Spotify, and Audible. The tech setup doesn’t need to be overly complicated – find what works best for you.
When it comes to content, having a set list of questions can make your life easier. You’ll be surprised at how different each episode can be based on your guest’s responses. Keep it conversational and engaging. Incorporating insights from the top podcasts for digital marketing agencies can enrich your interview repertoire, helping you craft questions that delve deeper into industry trends and best practices while keeping your audience captivated.
Syndicating your podcast is crucial. Share it with your email list, across your social profiles, and in relevant groups. Use AI technology to repurpose your content into bite-sized videos for various platforms.
Lastly, remember that everybody wants to work with an expert who understands their industry inside out. Podcasting is a surefire way to position yourself as that expert and magnetically attract your ideal clients.
To sum it up, here are four steps to get started:
- Set up the podcast tech structure
- Create a workflow for scheduling guests
- Reach out to potential guests
- Commit to producing at least one podcast episode per month
